Lovely hotel, terrible restaurant!
My mom and myself stayed in this hotel for three nights. Overall, the hotel itself is lovely and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The staff on reception are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel as it is very close to the tram network which is amazing at travelling around Amsterdam.
However, I would not recommend the restaurant. My mom and myself both decided on the last night 15/2/25, to treat ourselves to a meal at the hotel. We knew it would be pricey compared to eating out which we expected. However, what we didn’t expect was to be served a raw beef burger. It had barely touched the pan before being served on our plate. The waitress came and we explained really nicely we would like it cooked more which she said they could do. The kitchen is open so you can see the chef cooking, which in this instance showed him extremely angry we had sent it back to be cooked more and then gave me the most glaring look, making myself and my mom feel really uncomfortable. We decided we would wait, so we ate the chips on the table before they got cold. Twenty/ twenty five minutes later the burgers still hadn’t come back and other meals were still being served. At which point we said we will leave it and just pay for what we had eaten. The waitress then got very short with us, which made us feel even more unwelcome. The burgers alone without chips were £20 so I wouldn’t not recommend this to anyone, especially when it comes to the table still mooing and then the chef being very rude.
The hotel itself is beautiful so I am not writing this review completely negative, I would just avoid the restaurant and go for food elsewhere ☺️
